The care and maintenance of the Judge’s Shack is solely provided by the FOJS group using their own resources, sweat equity, and donations, but more help is needed to preserve this New Jersey shore treasure.

The Judge’s Shack has survived in its vulnerable oceanfront location for over a century through storms, hurricanes, and occasional vandalism.  Historically appropriate maintenance and structural stabilization are never ending tasks on this fragile structure.

In addition to restorations, The FOJS also supports the IBSP through educational opportunities. The FOJS support assists in a summer moonlight walk program and has developed a PowerPoint presentation for the public.

Donations are always needed and most welcome.

On an ongoing basis, the FOJS members plant dune grasses and install snow fencing to help stabilize the surrounding fragile dune system.

Due to the harsh coastal climate, restoration projects include roofing, dry laid foundation piers, structure, wall shingles, windows and frames, flooring, hardware, and others.

If you are a passionate and skilled volunteer who wants to restore this historic treasure and oceanfront landmark, please get in touch with us.
